Stamp A Stack Cards

Here are a couple of my stamp a stack cards that I did back earlier in the month (only ended up doing one as I had to cancel my first one due to my migraine!).

The first one is using the Seaworthy Stamp Set which is only available in Australia and also uses one of the new In Colours for this year - Soft Sky ! To get the background effect on the Soft Sky card, you grab our card and scrap or drag it roughly across your Soft Sky Classic Stamp Pad (it will dry lighter so don't freak out when you first see it after you've done this as it does look darker wet!). Then I used Night of Navy Classic Stamp Pad to stamp up my yacht stamp and stamped it on to the Soft Sky Card. To colour in the sea around the yacht, I used my aqua painter and my Night of Navy water colour crayon to roughly paint in the ocean and then used my white gel pen to give it some white caps! Next I tore the bottom of my Soft Sky card and also a strip of Whisper White Card. I then grabbed a sponge and sponged the torn edge of the Soft Sky Card with ink from the Night of Navy Stamp Pad and while I had my Night of Navy Stamp Pad open , I inked up Oprah's saying and stamped it on to the Kraft base card. Then I put it altogether and finished it off with some Soft Sky Double Stitched Ribbon which I had cut a little wider than the card, then put tape on at both ends of the ribbon, placed it onto the card and then trimmed off the excess ribbon. This way the ribbon will not fray and you do not need to fold the ribbon onto the other side of the card - you get a professional finish to your card!

My second one is using what is probably my total favourite stamp set and wheel out of the new cattie - Priceless and So Swirly!! First get the large flower from the Priceless stamp set and stamp it up with Elegant Eggplant and then stamp onto some Elegant Eggplant card three times, cut each flower out and then using a two way glue pen put glue onto the inside petals and then sprinkle some Dazzling Diamonds onto each flower to give it some bling! Put these to one side som that the glue has time to dry - otherwise use a heat gun to give it short blast of heat if you're in a hurry! With your Almost Amethyst base card, grab the small flower stamp from the Price Stamp Set and stamp all over the face of your base card with either the Almost Amethyst Classic Stamp Pad or the Versamark stamp pad. Grab your strip of Very Vanilla Card, your Wheel Guide and the So Swirly Wheel in its Jumber Handle - ink up So Swirly with your Elegant Eggplant Classic Stamp Pad and then using your Wheel Guide roll across your Very Vanilla Card. Mount this onto your strip of Elegant Eggplant Card and then in turn mount it onto your Almost Amethyst card. Next you'll need the frame from Frames with a Flourish Stamp Set to stamp on to a piece of scrap Very Vanilla card with the Elegant Eggplant Stamp Pad, then grab any saying you like - I used one from the Looks Like Spring Stamp set - and also ink that up with Elegant Eggplant, then using your Stamp-a-ma-jig, stamp your saying inside your frame. Cut around your frame and then grab a sponge and sponger some Elegant Eggplant ink around it. Finally, mount up your flowers and your frame with Stampin' Dimensionals and Viola you're done! You could use any colour combination for this - either tone on tone or a total mix of colours!

Hope you enjoyed seeing these cards and you got some inspiration from them!

I'm Back !!

Hi all, well it has been a while sent I did my last entry - why does it seem that the days seem to fly by when you're older and drag/go slow when you're younger? I have been busy at work (have to admit I hate this time of year at work because everything is urgent and clients want things like yesterday!!), doing quite a few SU workshops and swaps and not to mention to I have also had a couple of migraines (which knock me out for a couple of days) and a bout of gastro just to add into the mix! I have also created a few cards as well so will be posting these up for you in the next few days - so stayed tuned!

As promised above, here is my 6x6 scrapbook page with Bella and Brony! What I used is Whisper White, Gable Green, Tempting Turquoise Card & Pink Passion Card, the Love Matters Stamp Set (from the 07/08 Summer Mini) and the Time Well Spent Stamp Set (hostess only set in the new 08/09 cattie), Stazon Black Stamp Pad, and Gable Green and Pink Passion Classic Stamp Pads, Bold Bright Markers, Sponge, Stampin' Dimensionals and finally the wonderful Stamp-a-ma-jig!

I thought the saying from the Time Well Spent stamp set was very apt for these two as they love being together -Brony just about always awaiting for us at mum's front door when we go up to visit (doesn't help that mum tells her that bubby Bell is coming as she'll sit there and wait until we turn up even if it means waiting for an hour!) Must admit though I think Brony is starting to miss Mum as she is normally inside just about all day (except when mum goes out) at home and down here she's put outside will Bell when I go to work at 7.30 in the morning and doesn't get back inside until 6ish when I get home! She has also destroyed Bella's bed since she's been down here and this week she started on her own - it'll be interesting to see how much is left of it by the time mum gets back in two weeks!

Anyway better go, Nikki our dog wash lady is about to be here to wash (and blow dry) the dogs and I was hoping to go out and do some more weeding in my poor garden (something else that has been missing attention!) but it looks like it is about to rain again - it was supposed to have cleared up this arvo!
